This project is the result of a limited competition organized by the EMVS the end of 2003. The philosophy of the competition was that each team would offer the best architecture solution that was able to imagine, subject to compliance with the parameters ” economic impact “of solar construction, and number of dwellings, and always considering that it is a protected housing development .

Depended on both the contestants to decide whether opting for a proposal “measure” that would meet the rest of urban conditions of employment , orientation, altitude, etc. . , or if, as was our case raised a processing solution that needed further planning . Our winning proposal was a tower of 22 floors .

The project could have in many ways , but one to which we do not like giving up and that has to do with the effectiveness of the plant and the solution of a given functional program , in this case housing. The houses for rent that are characterized by their small size , as they are , from sheltered housing , those that best meet the minimum dimensional regulations. The project built a total of 132 apartments of one and two bedrooms for a building area of 9000 m2 more than 300 ground floor commercial use.

Above ground , the building occupies 70 % of the limit set by the alignment , with a general setback to release more public space on the front sidewalk access and natural relief of ground floor commercial use . This setback can be avoided building Freshly painted bevels and work with a sharper volume geometry .
